June 19 through June 23
American Girl Doll Camp

Each day, our workshop provides enough structure for children to feel successful and enough freedom for individual creativity. Please bring your doll and a snack and be ready for some artful fun! Your child will love the variety of crafts we have planned using a variety of art mediums. Girls will make such things as a Sculpey clay puppy to act as the perfect companion for their American Girl doll, as well as constructing and designing a dog house for their special new pet. They will make a no sew dress for their doll, as well as matching duct tape purses for themselves and their dolls, draw a portrait of their doll and/or create a fabulous new American Girl doll from their imaginations, and the week will be finished off with a tea party for your child and her doll, sporting her new fashions with her new pet by her side. All materials, except for American Girl Doll, included.

June 26 through June 30
Superheroes, Cartoons, and Aliens

Does your child enjoy art but doesn’t always want to paint flowers? Do his/her interests lean more toward Stan Lee than Monet? In this camp, a professional artist will supervise time-tested, friendly projects. Among the activities children will engage in are original cartoons, “found object” alien sculptures, and superhero and cartooning projects. All materials included.

July 3 through July 7 (only 4 days)
Clay Bead and Jewelry Making

In this summer workshop, you’ll learn the basics of beginner bead and jewelry making. Polymer clay is a great medium for making lightweight components for jewelry and sculpture and basic techniques for working with polymer clay are easy to learn. This class will introduce methods for conditioning the polymer, making a Skinner blend, building simple canes, and forming beads. After you make some beads, string them to make your first polymer bracelet! All materials included.

July 10 through July 14
Cake Decorating

Here’s a summer workshop where you can have your cake, decorate, and eat it too!!! Do you love watching Cupcake Wars on Food Network? Do you want to learn how to frost cakes and cupcakes like a professional? Learn techniques on how to use a pastry bag and icing tips for writing, piping, flowers, and more! We will practice coloring icing and applying our skills to decorating cakes. You will come home with recipes and samples to show off your work! All materials included.

July 17 through July 21
Fun in Fairyland

Explore fairyland for a week of fun. Summer campers will create fairy houses, make their own special little pixies, have a fairy tea party, and explore other fairy crafts. Each girl will also make a fairy costume during the week, which they will wear on Friday for a fairy parade. All materials included.

July 24 through July 28
American Girl Doll II Camp

Since there seemed to be so much excitement over week one’s American Girl Doll Camp, we decided to offer a second week full of additional arts and crafts for your child and their American Girl Doll to enjoy! Please bring your doll and a snack and be ready to have fun. We will be making crafts such as friendship bracelets and personalized American Girl chair. We will enjoy a “spa day” where your child will learn fun hairstyles to practice on their dolls and have time to relax and feel pampered. We will also make a variety of fake food to then take on a picnic. All materials, except for American Girl Doll, included.

July 31 through August 4
Whimsical Creations: Owls, Dragonflies, Fairies, Lotus Flowers, and Dragons

This week, students will explore many elements of art with the focus being owls, dragonflies, fairies, lotus flowers, and dragons. Through the use of various fine art mediums such as water colors, acrylic paints, clay, pencil, and colored pencil, etc., students will make wonderful whimsical creations that are limited only by their imaginations. All materials included.

August 7 through August 11
Project Art

Experimenting with materials and methods is encouraged as students develop individual creative practices within a receptive community of makers. This workshop will focus on using not-so-traditional project art materials such as wax batik, fabric, reusing found objects, rock painting, and more to create fabulous art projects. The sky is the limit as students explore the possibilities of materiality, form, object, scale, and connections as they will create diverse and creative works of art. All materials included.

12:30 P.M. TO 3:00 P.M.
Limit of 20 Students

Mondays and Wednesdays Each Week
Young Yogis: Yoga, Mindfulness, and Meditation

By integrating the practice of yoga into their daily routines, this class will help children learn to feel better about themselves, release stress, and calm their emotions – all of which makes them healthier and happier. The children explore their balance and practice staying centered when they face challenges on and off their yoga mats. Students will improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques. They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner and group poses, lots of yoga games, breathing, and basic anatomy. Join us as we focus on how to lift each other up, be an important member in the community, and love ourselves for who we really are. This class will focus on positive self-image, self-love, and kindness toward ourselves and others. And, of course, being strong inside and out.

Tuesdays and Thursdays Each Week
Valley Vocals – Musical Theater Camp

The Valley Vocals is a musical theater camp that encourages children ages 6 to 13 to discover their artistic voice through creative play. This summer camp offers an all-encompassing look at what Musical Theater involves in a supportive and nurturing environment. Through this 8-week summer camp, children will be given the opportunity to explore their talents in acting, vocal, and choreographed performance. The students will be introduced to new songs every week sampled from Broadway classics to current Disney favorites. Each week will end with a performance session of that week’s work and the students will also be given the opportunity to perform in the August recital. Children can attend all 8 weeks of the Musical Theater Camp or attend as many weeks as they desire.

Fridays Each Week
I Love Nature Camp: Outdoor Adventure/Hiking/Gardening/Sustainability Camp

Every Friday afternoon, come go on a nature adventure with us! Each week a different element of nature will be explored. Among some of those things will be hiking in some of our beautiful natural areas such as Francis Slocum State Park and traveling and learning about the Susquehanna River Bed. Other weeks, rock climbing, gardening, and sustainability practices will be learned. This is our one off-premises camp. Location and topic will vary each week. Contact the studio for specific information as to where we’ll meet and what the children will be learning about that day.
